Director RB UMALI | 5 mins | USA
The year was 1997 and RB Umali was busy documenting some of the finest skateboarding to ever go down in New York City while attending his third year of film school at NYU. On assignment as a Main Videographer for 411 Video Magazine and rolling with the original Zoo York skateboard team while filming the first Zoo York Mixtape video, RB would come home at the end of the day to transfer the day’s highlights onto VHS tape. The N.Y. Revisited series contains never-before-seen footage of some of NYC’s best-known professional skateboarders in their prime from that tape. Shot on location at spots that are no longer skateable, this 5-minute edit is a remix of the third installation, cut to a classic ’90s soundtrack.
