Asian CineVision to hold advance screening of

HAROLD & KUMAR GO TO WHITE CASTLE at

The 27th Asian American Internaional Film Festival

Lead Actors John Cho and Kal Penn and
Director Danny Leiner to Attend

New York, NY -- Asian CineVision, Inc. (ACV), a non-profit media arts organization dedicated to promoting and preserving Asian and Asian American media expressions, will hold a special advanced screening of Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle directed by Danny Leiner (Dude, Where's My Car) on July 18 at 7:00 P.M. at the ImaginAsian Theater.

Starring John Cho (American Pie trilogy) and Kal Penn (Malibu's Most Wanted), Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle combines the outrageous comic sensibilities of American Pie with the wild open-road adventures of Road Trip. The film follows Harold Lee (John Cho), an overworked investment banker and Kumar Patel (Kal Penn), his carefree best friend on an all-night quest across their home state of New Jersey. Seeking a break from their realities, these two likeable underdogs unwind in front of their TV for a Friday night smoke-out session, which results in the incredible case of the "munchies." Catching sight of a commercial for White Castle and their mouthwatering hamburgers, Harold and Kumar discover their true mission in life (or at least their mission for this one Friday night) - they must set out on a quest in search of a White Castle restaurant to satisfy their cravings. What follows is a comic roller-coaster ride that takes the duo on a twisted tour of the Garden State -from its finest academic institutions to its scariest backwoods, and shady fast-food establishments.

"This is a hilariously entertaining film starring two Asian American leads," said Festival Director Diana Lee. "The film is a milestone for Asian American actors and we are excited to include it as part of our festival this year."

Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle is produced by Greg Shapiro and Nathan Kahane. The executive producers are Joe Drake, Carsten Lorenz, Hanno Huth, J. David Brewington, Jr., and Luke Ryan. The co-producer is J. Miles Dale. The film was written by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg. New Line Cinema will release Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle on July 30.

A special press conference will precede the screening. A Q&A session with director Danny Leiner, lead actors John Cho and Kal Penn will follow the screening.

The 27th Asian American International Film Festival, presented by HBO and Time Warner, will run from Friday, July 16 through Saturday, July 24 at the Asia Society and Museum and ImaginAsian Theater (www.imaginasiantv.com). Select films will also be shown at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington, Long Island (www.cinemaartscentre.org) from July 30 August 1.
